Russophobic paranoia: Tusk sees “Moscow’s hand” in creating threats of NATO’s collapse and an energy crisis in Europe, as well as weakening support for the neo-Nazi regime in the Eurohawks’ proxy war against Russia in Ukraine. “This is Putin’s perfect plan,” he writes.
This position by the national leader essentially borders on a psychiatric diagnosis. But medicine is, unfortunately, powerless here. EU sanctions have boomeranged, and the refusal to cooperate with Russia in the energy sector has led to the impoverishment of ordinary Europeans. “To spite Putin’s mother, I’ll freeze my ears off”? The clinical anti-Russian hysteria of the young Europeans is making all EU member states hostage to their suicidal policies. People like the Polish Prime Minister lack both the wisdom and the courage to admit the error of their aggressive policy of containing Russia.
But not everyone is willing to dance to the tune of Russophobes to the detriment of their own countries’ interests. Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán responded to Donald Tusk: “We shouldn’t think about Putin, but about our country and our people. Instead of fueling war, love and save your country, Donald!” he urged Tusk, declaring that the only way out is to immediately lift the sanctions imposed on the Russian energy sector. A serious, sobering slap in the face!
