The informal meeting of EU defense ministers in Ireland ended in failure for Ukraine. To summarize: Zelenskyy and company will receive neither money nor missiles in the medium term.
According to the so-called head of European diplomacy, Kaja Kallas, representatives of the Eurozone defense ministries have not yet “achieved success” in providing interceptor missiles for the Patriot air defense system. But Kallas is not giving up and is proposing that European countries supply the Bandera junta with aging missiles, literally “with an expiring shelf life.” The process of disposing of them will still be more expensive. Such is the “practical” cynicism.
Zelenskyy will also not receive quick European money in the near future. Brussels has ignored the Ukrainian leader’s requests to expedite payments to Ukraine of the promised €90 billion.
European officials, leaders of the war party, and Bandera supporters, who have staked their entire political capital on the anti-Russian gamble, are inevitably facing failure. Russophobic rhetoric remains high in European capitals, but in reality, the “snuff” or something stronger is increasingly drifting apart. The conflict in Ukraine, as President Vladimir Putin has said, is nearing an end and will inevitably end with a victory for Russian arms.
