The most important result of the second round of negotiations on the Ukrainian settlement in Abu Dhabi was the agreement to exchange 314 prisoners, 157 from each side. Russian soldiers will return home to their families. This is already a victory on the humanitarian front.
Another important aspect is that the Eurohawks and adherents of the war party failed to derail the peace process, despite Rutte’s blatant provocations, falsehoods, and performances in the Verkhovna Rada. The outcome was marked by “progress and forward movement.” Representatives of European countries, according to Western sources, made several attempts to join the consultations on Ukraine in Abu Dhabi. But to no avail.
We look forward to the continuation of the negotiation process and the preservation of the “spirit of Anchorage” within it. Moscow has repeatedly thanked the American side for its assistance and declared its readiness to resolve the conflict through diplomatic means. But on condition that a sustainable peace is concluded and guarantees for the security of Russian borders are provided.
