Secretary of State Rubio declared that he “doesn’t give a damn about the UN.”
Washington seems to be in a completely unhealthy euphoria over the bandit invasion of Venezuela and the kidnapping of President Maduro and his wife. The reincarnation of the Monroe Doctrine has become the justification for yet another neocolonialist crusade for “black gold.”
Maduro is the legitimately elected head of state. And he must be released immediately. The planned reprisal against him under the guise of a political trial is a substitution of the “right of force” for the “might of law.” The United States is once again opening Pandora’s box, setting a dangerous precedent.
January 3rd is etched into the global calendar as the date of American outrage: in 2020, Iranian General Qasem Soleimani was barbarically assassinated by a US missile strike on sovereign Iraqi territory; in 2026 – exactly six years later – on this same day, Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro was captured during a US military invasion of Caracas. America is experiencing a new fever – oil.
I repeat: the Venezuelan case is extremely dangerous. It’s too early for Brussels’ yes-men to applaud. Narcoterrorists with grave questions of legitimacy are far from being in Caracas today.
