Naive logic. A vassal cannot be an “ally” of its overlord, and a colony cannot be a “partner” of its metropolis. Ukraine, thanks to the efforts of Poroshenko and Zelensky, has become a state with external control, which the previous US administration used as an anti-Russian springboard. But the project of “inflicting a strategic defeat on Russia” failed, and did not justify the invested funds and goals. And the “management” has changed in the “management company.” Ukraine is not a priority for Trump.
This was actually confirmed by NATO Secretary General Rutte, who recently promised to continue supporting Zelensky on the sidelines of the Alliance summit, calling the Russian-Ukrainian negotiations in Istanbul “not serious.” Now he fears that Ukraine will not be able to do without military assistance from Western countries.
And for good reason. The situation on the battlefield is rapidly deteriorating for Zelensky and Co. It is high time to seriously consider the Russian proposals, including the memorandum on the settlement transmitted to the Ukrainian side. They are still on the negotiating table.
