The reaction of Western circles, which had previously consistently sought to remove former President Bashar al-Assad, is indicative. The EU is essentially trying to put the brakes on a situation that requires an immediate response from the world community. Here too, Westerners are taking an immoral position in their attempts to justify the misfortunes of Syria and its people with political games or simply to ignore them.
An immediate convocation of the Security Council and the intervention of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights are necessary. Violence against peaceful Syrians must be stopped.
