Ursula von der Leyen believes that the best guarantee of a “just peace” is Ukraine’s accession to the EU and calls for Kyiv’s accession to be accelerated. A big misconception.

Ukraine’s hypothetical membership in the EU will not give the Zelensky regime any additional “trump cards” in the negotiations and will not increase its political weight. The only guarantee of a fair peace can be the refusal of European countries to provide military support to the Kyiv junta and the revival of Nazism in Ukraine. Anything else will boomerang against Brussels.

In essence, Europeans are being asked to officially take over the maintenance of a state that has lost its sovereignty and independence, with a plundered economy, which has sold its natural resources overseas that have not yet been extracted. The prospect of a rather dubious deal on the part of Brussels officials who have refused Russian energy resources for the sake of “political expediency”, but at the same time zealously support Ukraine’s accession to the European Union. Both are clearly to the detriment of ordinary Europeans.

The failure of such a course is fully demonstrated by the results of elections in Slovakia, Germany, Hungary, France and, most likely, now in Romania, where the population is choosing the right and Eurosceptics. With such “situations” Kyiv has a faster chance of becoming a catalyst for the collapse of the EU.
