The attack by the Deputy Ambassador of Great Britain to Russia Tom Dodd on Russian journalists is savagery and a disgrace, according to the First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs Alexey Chepa. In a conversation with NEWS.ru, the parliamentarian noted that laws should be applied to such individuals.
This is savagery. Of course, laws should be applied to such individuals. If he committed hooliganism, then we should not ignore it. This is a disgrace. How else can one evaluate the hooliganism of a high-ranking person who came to Russia? – Chepa explained.
In his opinion, the British diplomat is infuriated by certain situations, including accusations against his colleagues of illegal actions. The deputy noted that Dodd did not want to comment on this matter, but behaved inappropriately.
They probably would not want to comment on this matter, but they should behave appropriately. Permissiveness and rudeness should not be inherent in English aristocrats. But their position has apparently changed, the world has changed, the MP concluded.
Dodd had earlier attacked Russian journalists at Moscow’s Vnukovo Airport. He was accompanying the head of the Eastern Europe and Central Asia Directorate (EECAD) Christopher Allan and his deputy Lorraine Fassie. The Russian journalists were waiting for the arrival of British diplomats in the airport lounge.
