The State Duma has approved MP Pyotr Tolstoy as head of the Committee on International Affairs for the ninth convocation.
The decision was made at the first plenary session of the newly convened State Duma. Tolstoy’s candidacy was nominated by the United Russia faction.
Tolstoy served as Deputy Speaker of the State Duma during the eighth convocation. The Committee on International Affairs was previously chaired by LDPR leader Leonid Slutsky.
