Anton Morozov: “The Navalny incident is used to advance the economic interests of the United States”

On September 6, a member of the State Duma’s international affairs committee, Anton Morozov, in an interview with RIA Novosti, commented on the statement by German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas on the situation with Navalny. Heiko Maas’s position is viewed by Morozov as “interference in the internal affairs of Russia,” and besides, it is provocative in itself.

Anton Morozov also notes the economic side of this incident: “As you know, the United States is not at all profitable for the construction of Nord Stream 2, because, firstly, they believe that in this way we will put Germany on the so-called“ gas needle ” and we will try to dictate to them some political conditions, although Russia is not going to do this at all, but, nevertheless, the United States has similar concerns, and secondly, the United States would like to supply its gas to the European market.”
