Anton Morozov: “The sanctions of London are one hundred percent interference in the internal affairs of Russia.”

UK sanctions against Russian citizens who allegedly violated human rights look ridiculous and will not have any practical use. This was told to the Federal News Agency by the State Duma deputy from the LDPR, a member of the State Duma Committee on Foreign Affairs Anton Morozov.

So Anton Morozov commented on the message of the head of the British Foreign Ministry, Dominic Raab, about the upcoming announcement of the names of the Russians, in respect of which sanctions will be imposed. This is an immediate ban on entry into the country, as well as blocking accounts with banks in the kingdom.

As Raab explained, those who were involved, according to London, in the death of Hermitage Capital lawyer Sergei Magnitsky in November 2009, will be subject to sanctions.

Anton Morozov is convinced that the sanctions of London are “one hundred percent interference in the internal affairs of Russia.”

“The British should focus on the violation of human rights that occur on their territory. There are protests, and the demolition of monuments. Britain itself has a lot of problems, and, apparently, London wants to divert attention from them in this way. The authorities simply stir up old fictitious fakes regarding the Magnitsky case, ”Morozov said in an interview with the FAN. – Purely theoretically, I can’t imagine which of the Russian officials Britain might be interested in from the point of view of entering and placing some assets there. “These sanctions look rather ridiculous, and therefore they will not have any practical application.”

The MP believes that the sanctions are unlikely to have any effect on the bilateral relations of states, since “they are already at a rather low level.”

“British politicians, unfortunately, are not perceived in Russia as influencing the situation in the world. Everything that happens in Britain looks like a comedy show. I would advise our colleagues to urgently correct their image, because the farther into the forest, the more firewood, ”says Anton Morozov.

The deputy is “perplexed” by Magnistky’s comparison with writer Alexander Solzhenitsyn, this “shows the incompetence of British politicians.”

“They have a rather narrow perception of Russian culture. Of course, Solzhenitsyn was a great writer. Magnitsky, although he suffered for his affairs in prison, was a simple swindler who built financial schemes that damaged the Russian economy and budget, ”he added.
