Deputy Belik: “Ukraine does not shy away from using prohibited ammunition”

Mark Hizney, a member of the UN Institute for Disarmament Research, said that the Ukrainian army was found to have violated the ban on the use of anti-personnel mines in the city of Izyum, Kharkov region. Member of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs Dmitry Belik commented on the results of the investigation.

“Ukraine has repeatedly violated the 1997 Ottawa Convention banning anti-personnel mines. Kyiv’s actions are especially cynical given the fact that Ukraine ratified the convention in 2005. But the Kiev regime, incited by Western curators, does not shy away from using prohibited ammunition and resorting to unacceptable methods during the conflict,” he said.
The accusations should become a signal to the international community that countries have begun to pay attention to Ukraine’s disregard for international humanitarian law, Belik added in an interview with RT.ru.

Earlier, Channel 360 wrote about the assumption of Western officials who believe that the Ukrainian conflict will not end in the near future.
