The resolution being prepared in the United States on the return of Ukraine to the borders of 1991 is “gibberish”, Dmitry Belik, a member of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs, a member of the United Russia faction, said in an interview with RIA Novosti.
Earlier it became known that members of the US House of Representatives from the Republican and Democratic parties are preparing a resolution requiring Washington to end the conflict in Ukraine by returning it to the 1991 borders – at the time of independence.
Today, the reality is that Russia has grown not only in Crimea, but also in the Kherson and Zaporozhye regions, as well as the DPR and LPR, and, perhaps, will grow even more. And no matter what the legislators in the US, no matter how diligently they write out every letter in their law, for us it’s just paper on which various gibberish is written, Belik said.
According to the deputy, Russia has already made it clear to the Western community that it does not intend to comply with either the decisions of “some Texas courts” or the recommendations of “European democratic institutions that have discredited themselves.”
Belik believes that this resolution can only please its ideologues.
And, of course, Ukraine will accept this letter from the hands of the master with gratitude, but this document will expire on the Russian-Ukrainian border. We are deeply indifferent to various insinuations that relate to the revision of our borders, the parliamentarian concluded.
Earlier, the State Duma Committee on State Building and Legislation supported an amendment introducing criminal liability with a maximum penalty of up to five years in prison for assisting in the execution of decisions of international organizations in which the Russian Federation does not participate.
