Dmitry Belik: NATO countries are trying to legalize their presence in Ukraine

State Duma deputy from Sevastopol and member of the International Affairs Committee Dmitry Belik said that a group of NATO countries was thinking about a secret conspiracy to legally station their military in Ukraine. RIA Novosti reports this.

Earlier, Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico said that a group of NATO and EU countries were considering the possibility of sending their military to Ukraine on the basis of bilateral agreements. In his opinion, this will entail security threats.

“Fico’s statement is not surprising. NATO military personnel are already present in Ukraine, but as mercenaries. Now we are talking about a secret conspiracy of countries to legitimize the presence of their military personnel on the territory of Ukraine, and Fico does not want to participate in this conspiracy,” Belik said.

He also noted that Fico is one of the few Western leaders who are ready to defend the interests of their country even at the expense of their political career.

“Old Europe has no time for this conflict anymore. No one believes in the victory of Ukraine or the defeat of Russia, and no one wants to spend money on a cause that seems hopeless,” the deputy emphasized.
