Dmitry Belik said that Japan is becoming the leader of the anti-Russian bloc in Asia

in Asia. Tokyo announced an increase in assistance to Kyiv after negotiations between Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, a member of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs recalled in an interview with URA.RU.

Until now, Tokyo has been supplying Kyiv with equipment, unmanned aerial vehicles and various humanitarian aid. Now Japan has decided to invest its support in more impressive amounts,” Belik emphasized.

The deputy believes that the West used Japan for its own purposes even during the days of Chinese President Xi Jinping’s visit to Russia.

The collective West has brought Japan into the anti-Russian arena as a counterbalance to cooperation between Russia and China. <...> The moment of the meeting with [Vladimir] Zelensky was artificially accelerated against the backdrop of Xi Jinping’s visit to Moscow, but it was not possible to shift the emphasis in favor of Kishida’s visit to Kiev,” Belik believes.

In his opinion, Tokyo is not an ally of Kyiv, but simply supports everything anti-Russian – it adheres to the line of the G7 countries and will “do what fits into the anti-Russian concept.”

Earlier it was reported that Japan, as the chairman of the Group of Seven (G7), intends to promote sanctions against Russia, and will also participate in the restoration of Ukraine. Such promises are contained in a joint statement by Fumio Kishida and Volodymyr Zelensky.
