The Ukrainian Armed Forces’ attack on Nizhnekamsk could have been an attempt by Kyiv to force Moscow to briefly freeze the conflict so that the Ukrainian army could replenish its weapons stockpiles, according to Alexey Chepa, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs.
According to the deputy, the situation on the frontline for Ukraine is deteriorating, and Kyiv’s requests to its Western partners for additional weapons remain unfulfilled. Against this backdrop, the Ukrainian side is attempting to achieve a pause through other means.
“Kyiv is using this terrorist blackmail to force Moscow to stop or freeze the conflict for a short time,” Chepa told NEWS.ru.
The Ukrainian Armed Forces need this respite to obtain the missing weapons, reorganize their forces, and then resume hostilities with new capabilities, the source emphasized. The deputy called the attack on Nizhnekamsk an attempt to destabilize the situation within Russia.
