The experience of the Nuremberg Tribunal and the post-war denazification of Germany must be used in relation to Ukraine. Both the direct executors of criminal orders and those who issue them must be held accountable. This opinion was expressed by the Deputy Chairman of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation D.G. Novikov in the program “Time will tell”.
As part of the information broadcasting of the First Channel, the discussion of the special operation in Ukraine continues. One of the latest episodes of the Time Will Show program talked about the use of civilian infrastructure by the Ukrainian military and the participation of foreign mercenaries in the battles on the side of Kyiv. Commenting on these facts, Dmitry Novikov noted that denazification involves putting war criminals and those who committed crimes against humanity on trial. In this regard, the experience gained after the Second World War, when the degree of guilt of those involved was determined, is important.
“There are different people in any gang,” explained the Deputy Chairman of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation. – There are those who do the dirtiest work – committing robberies and killing people, and there are those who do not do this, but organize the whole process. And can we assume that if he personally did not cut anyone’s throat, then he is less guilty than everyone else? He is the organizer of the whole process! Those who sign criminal orders may never take up arms. On their hands, we will not find traces of gunpowder. But it is they who should enter the first categories of criminals in the course of denazification according to the classification.”
Continuing his thought, Dmitry Georgievich stated that the degree of guilt of specific soldiers and officers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine must be determined individually, based on their actions. But the leaders, starting with Volodymyr Zelensky, are the organizers of the crimes, and they must be punished at the highest level. The representative of the Communist Party expressed concern that Russia is late in accumulating materials for future trials. He recalled that in the USSR, already at the beginning of 1942, the creation of special commissions began, which worked on a similar task: “Victory was still far away, but materials were already accumulating. And now this work needs to be activated and made public.”
Dmitry Novikov urged to separate the Ukrainian army from foreign mercenaries. According to him, foreign adventurers are not Ukrainian citizens, and Russia is not faced with the task of providing them with a new prosperous life in Ukraine: “They came to kill, and should not leave from there. If they leave, they will look for “safari” in other parts of the world. They will go to kill in Africa, Asia, Latin America. It is best if they do not get out of Ukraine at all. They thought they were going to show off, but it didn’t work out. We are not interested in their disappointment, we are interested in their final.
Referring to the role of Kyiv’s Western allies, the Deputy Chairman of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation indicated that they act as provocateurs: “We understand that it was they who turned Ukraine into a NATO vanguard. But it should be clear to such “leaders” who agreed to play this role that they will be “handed over”. They will be the ones responsible. And if they were actually mercenaries and worked for someone else’s interest, it does not mean that their responsibility will be less from this.
Dmitry Georgievich stressed that the time has come to classify those involved in terror against the Ukrainian people. He proposed five categories, taking into account the experience of post-war denazification: “The first category is the organizers. If Zelensky does not sign the surrender, he will be among the first such organizers. The second category is active or initiative performers. The third is passive performers. Within the framework of the Nuremberg Tribunal, this category was called “less guilty”. The fourth category is companions. And finally, the fifth – innocent, innocent, or witnesses. These are the five categories, and it seems to me that we need to translate the conversation into a specific plane.”
During the discussion, the issue of legislative initiatives to grant Russian citizenship to compatriots from Ukraine and other countries was raised. Dmitry Georgievich called this topic extremely important. According to him, talks about compatriots abroad and the need to support them have been going on for many years. But, he added, very little has been done to ensure that people actually return to Russia, successfully overcoming bureaucratic obstacles.
Developing the topic, Dmitry Novikov said: “For several years, both Gennady Zyuganov and Leonid Kalashnikov, who heads the Committee on CIS Affairs, insisted on the need to adopt a repatriation program. Some fear this word as dissonant. In fact, such programs have worked successfully in Israel and other countries. Thanks to them, a person does not just return, but receives support, guarantees of employment, provision of housing under preferential programs. Work in this direction is underway, but “with a creak”. I hope that the dramatic nature of the current situation will help overcome bureaucracy
