The parliamentarian also believes that the good-neighborly relations of the Russian Federation with these states can actively contribute to resolving the difficult situation between them.
Earlier, the Chairman of the International Affairs Committee of the Federation Council, Konstantin Kosachev, said that Russia was ready to contribute to the peaceful resolution of all disputed issues between India and Pakistan, and could also act as an intermediary between them.
“Without a doubt, in our ever less stable world it is very important that those hotbeds of conflict that have already flared up are extinguished, and those that are brewing can be temporarily prevented,” Novikov said.
The deputy also noted that Russia has long-standing, good and strong relations with India, and there is also cooperation with Pakistan.
“These are our good neighborly relations with these two states that can make Russia the very country that could contribute, actively contribute to resolving the difficult situation between India and Pakistan,” the deputy explained.
