Dmitry Novikov: “The United States does not want to publish a Mueller report due to the absence of a trace of the Russian Federation”

The publication of the report by Robert Muller is possible, but the United States is not in a hurry to do this because of the absence of a Russian trace in the results of the American elections in 2016. This opinion was expressed in an interview with Duma TV by the first deputy chairman of the Committee on International Affairs, a deputy from the Communist Party faction Dmitry Novikov.

According to the parliamentarian, those who were initially interested in publishing the report, having learned about its content, now do not want to make it public.

“The publication of the report is possible, but for this we need special solutions. First, the attorney general, Trump himself or his attorneys should get acquainted with him. After that, when the congressmen are already, the senators will get acquainted with it, then maybe it will be decided to publish or not publish,” Novikov said.

At the same time, the deputy noted that the first leaks of the Muller report indicate the absence of a Russian trace, as well as the collusion of US President Donald Trump with the Russian Federation. “As a result, today it is clear that it was those who demanded the publication of the report, having learned about its content, were least interested in publishing it,” added Dmitry Novikov.

“Because as long as the report is not fully made public, you can continue to engage in a hoax, you can comment on something, talk about the Russian trace. And now, when the content of the report will finally become known, the possibilities for insinuations will become much less, and the fact that the commission’s work did not lead to the discovery of any serious Russian influence on the past American elections was understandable from the beginning, ”he said.

Recall, March 22, the US Justice Department announced that Special Prosecutor Robert Mueller completed an investigation into Trump’s possible agreement with Moscow. Later, Prosecutor General William Barr handed over the report to Congress and said: during the investigation it was not established that members of the team of the US President or someone associated with them entered into an agreement with Russia.
