The OSCE Parliamentary Assembly has become a semblance of the Maidan, there must be assessed “political hooliganism”, otherwise the question of Russia’s presence in the organization must be raised, says Elena Panina, member of the State Duma’s international affairs committee.
Earlier, Tolstoy left the OSCE PA hall as a sign of disagreement with the adoption, with an insufficient number of votes, of decisions regarding Russia and Belarus. The current session of the OSCE PA is being held in a hybrid mode, some of the participants work by video link.
“Instead of a respected international platform, we see a semblance of a Maidan, where an aggressive crowd is in charge, ignoring the laws. This is exactly what the OSCE PA looked like when an anti-Russian resolution was adopted by an absolute minority of the participants, in violation of the regulations,” Panina told RIA Novosti, commenting on the departure of the head of the Russian delegation from the Assembly, Deputy Speaker of the State Duma Pyotr Tolstoy.
The deputy noted that it is necessary to raise the issue of the assembly’s assessment of what happened.
“If the OSCE PA does not give a proper assessment of this impudent political hooliganism, then the question of the expediency of the presence of the Russian Federation on this site will certainly rise on the agenda,” Panina stated.
