The United States is betting on a confrontational scenario in Donbass, the West does not care about the life and well-being of Ukrainians, Elena Panina, a member of the Duma committee on international affairs, told RIA Novosti.
Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy told Time magazine that “the issue of supporting Ukraine” is “a test for the West.”
“What is happening now is, rather, a test for Europe, which again found itself under powerful political pressure from the United States. There is no doubt that the United States is betting on a confrontational scenario in Donbass, which, however, is extremely unpleasant for Germany and France.” – said Panina.
According to her, the politician, Zelensky is well aware that Ukraine as such in the eyes of the West does not represent any independent value.
“Geopolitically, the West needs Ukraine as a battering ram against Russia, economically – as a location for agribusiness completely controlled by transnational corporations and a source of qualified and cheap labor. The West does not care about life, health and well-being of Ukrainians at all,” the MP said.
