The Polish politician said a lot about sound things, but do not forget that his message is designed exclusively for the Russian audience, voiced in an interview with the Russian edition. So the State Duma deputy, member of the Foreign Affairs Committee Elena Panina (United Russia) commented on the statement by Polish Foreign Minister Jacek Chaputović about Warsaw’s readiness to normalize relations with Moscow.
“Russia remains one of the most important export markets for Poland, and in Warsaw, apparently, they realized that a sharp deterioration in interstate relations would certainly affect the situation in the field of economic relations,” Panina said.
At the same time, the deputy emphasized that it was too early to talk about any positive changes in the position of Warsaw.
“Warsaw has taken so many hostile actions against Russia lately that to restore balance in bilateral relations, not just words are needed, but real Poland’s actions in a fundamentally different, constructive direction,” Panina stated.
