Political logic triumphed, – so the deputy of the State Duma, member of the Committee on Foreign Affairs Elena Panina (“United Russia”) commented on the approval of the Verkhovna Rada Denis Shmygal as Prime Minister of Ukraine.
According to Panina, earlier it was expected that the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky will nominate for the post of Prime Minister Sergei Tigipko, who at various times held high posts in the Ukrainian government.
“This would be a reasonable decision, especially against the background of a serious deterioration in the economic situation in Ukraine and the need to end managerial experiments, the result of which now the former Prime Minister Goncharuk summed up with the catch phrase“ pigs have taken economy, ”Panina said.
“However, Zelensky chose the manager“ from the ground ”, who has experience in the real sector of the economy and at the regional level. Denis Shmygal was born, raised and worked all his life in Lviv, from where he moved to the neighboring Ivano-Frankivsk region only two years ago, where he headed the Burshtyn TPP, and then the regional administration, ”the politician noted.
According to Panina, the political logic won in the appointment of the new Prime Minister of Ukraine – Zelensky expects to strengthen his position in Galicia, where he is not enthusiastic.
“Apparently, the desire to raise its rating in Western Ukraine is a vital task for Zelensky,” Panina stated.
