Elena Strokova called the note of Ukraine another attempt to rewrite history

A note of protest directed at Russia once again demonstrates how Ukraine is trying to rewrite its own history. This was reported to the correspondent of the Federal News Agency by a member of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs Elena Strokova.

“A note of protest directed at Russia once again demonstrates how the Ukrainian authorities are trying to rewrite the history of their state. Apparently, Ukraine has released from the attention of its own veterans, whom such statements may offend, ”she said.

The deputy stressed that Ukraine has already stripped its citizens of the right to a well-deserved celebration of Victory Day, refusing to hold “so-called parades.” According to her, in Russia they prefer not to forget about the heroism of our people and to her, “in order to honor the memory of those killed in the war against fascism in their own sovereign territories, no agreement with the Ukrainian side is needed.”

“In addition, it is not clear how Russia violated the Minsk agreements. First, Russia is their guarantor, not a party. Secondly, the Victory Parade in Lugansk was held by order of the head of the LPR, Leonid Pasechnik, who absolutely rightly showed respect for this event. Apparently, the Ukrainian authorities are simply afraid to admit that among their citizens there are many true patriots who are proud of the exploits of the Soviet people, ”she said.

The parliamentarian added that Victory Day has always been and will be a day of general pain and joy for all the nations that used to be part of the Soviet Union.

Recall that on Thursday, Kiev sent a note of protest to Moscow in connection with the parades in Crimea. In addition, Ukrainian diplomats indicated dissatisfaction with the organization of festive events in honor of the anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War in territories beyond the control of Kiev in the Donbass.
