Yevgeny Primakov: “Poroshenko is trying to burn bridges and complicate Zelensky any maneuvers”

The current president of Ukraine, Petro Poroshenko, signed the law “On ensuring the functioning of the Ukrainian language as a state language” on Wednesday, May 15. According to “Tsargrad”, the politician considers it an “honor” to formalize the document.

Poroshenko also said that the law will be able to “unite the nation” and will help to get closer to the goal to which Ukrainians allegedly moved for many years. According to the bill, the Ukrainian language will now become official for all preschool, school, out-of-school and higher educational institutions.

As for cultural events, such as theater productions, in other languages, they will be accompanied by special subtitles. Ukrainian will also be official for all media, and broadcasts in other languages will be translated into Ukrainian.

MP Primakov criticized the signing of Poroshenko’s law on the state language

Evgeny Primakov, a State Duma deputy and a member of the international affairs committee, discussed this news with a Nation News correspondent:

“Poroshenko is trying to burn bridges and complicate Zelensky any maneuvers in relation to not even Russia, but the Ukrainian people. At least half of Ukrainians live and think in Russian, even ethnic Ukrainians. This is an inhuman law by all European standards. People who are trying to pretend that they are Europe, have once again proved that they are building a dense and segregational state in Ukraine, and I think that if Zelensky has enough strength to repeal this law, he will win elections in the Rada with a devastating account of any nationalists hell parties “, – he considers.
