The business approach of negotiating US President Donald Trump does not work in international diplomacy. About this in an interview with “Duma TV” said a member of the Committee on International Affairs, a deputy from the faction “United Russia” Yevgeny Primakov.
So the parliamentarian commented on the earlier summit of the American leader with the head of the DPRK, Kim Jong-un.
“The talks demonstrated a bad style of diplomacy by the American administration under the current president, Donald Trump. He often used the approaches he previously used in business. That is, first the pressure, then some discount, then try to achieve something during the negotiations, ”Primakov said.
The deputy also noted that for Donald Trump, “apparently, the great discovery was that such a method in international diplomacy – in a much more complex matter than just business negotiations – does not work.”
Recall that the summit between US President Donald Trump and DPRK leader Kim Jong-un ended before the scheduled time. During the negotiations, the parties could not come to the signing of agreements.
Later, the White House press secretary, Sarah Sanders, told reporters that the countries would continue negotiations in the future.
