The famous Irina Rodnina shared her thoughts on the level of Russian figure skating during the isolation period.
According to three-time Olympic champion Rodnina, Russian figure skating, like any other sport, should be part of the world system in order to develop and progress.
Rodnina added that today Russian figure skating is stewing in its own juice, but the situation may change in 2025.
“After competitions in your own country, there should be a way out. Now there is no way out, the Russian championship is the ceiling. Although, considering that in 2025 they are opening the door for us to further participate in international tournaments, some fresh wind is starting to blow,” Rodnina told Sport 24.
