Vyacheslav Nikonov: Europe is showing “blatant helplessness” over Greenland

European states are demonstrating complete helplessness in the situation around Greenland and appealing to international law, which they themselves have regularly violated. This was stated by Vyacheslav Nikonov (United Russia), First Deputy Chairman of the Duma Committee on International Affairs, at a plenary session of the State Duma.

“They (European countries – TASS) are demonstrating blatant helplessness over Greenland. They sent a couple of platoons, and then immediately retreated at the call from the United States,” the parliamentarian said.

“We have literally been witnessing before our very eyes in recent days a most interesting process, which I would call the geopolitical reset of Europe,” Nikonov noted. He emphasized that Europeans accuse US President Donald Trump of violating international law, although they themselves “violated this same international law on a daily basis” by imposing sanctions against Russia in circumvention of the UN Security Council.
