Sergei Zheleznyak: “By proposing to join NATO without Abkhazia and South Ossetia, Rasmussen actually recognizes the independence of these territories”

The proposal to Georgia to join NATO without Abkhazia and South Ossetia, former NATO Secretary General Anders FogRasmussen actually recognizes the independence of these territories – said a member of the State Duma Committee on Foreign Affairs Sergei Zheleznyak.
First of all, this statement of Rasmussen is addressed to Russia, which the NATO warriors regularly try to scare by deploying their bases near the borders of our country and unfoundedly accuse them of interfering in the internal affairs of other countries, including Abkhazia and South Ossetia, the parliamentarian also noted.
“It should be expected that in Georgia itself the actually proposed prospect of abandoning territorial claims against Abkhazia and South Ossetia will cause a wave of discontent on the part of the radical-minded part of Georgian political elites,” the deputy said.
