“The decision of the Federal Office for Shipping and Hydrography of Germany to start in the near future the construction of a section of the Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline in German waters is a positive signal and evidence of Berlin’s consistency in upholding national interests in the field of energy security,” said a member of the State Duma Committee on International affairs Sergey Zheleznyak.
“The German leadership demonstrates a responsible approach to protecting the interests and rights of its citizens to obtain high-quality, inexpensive Russian energy resources from a reliable supplier. The FRG authorities are pragmatic in their policy and clearly do not count on US participation in national security issues, which, of course, include energy issues.
Despite constant US pressure, Berlin remains restrained and continues to insist on the exclusively economic nature of the Nord Stream 2 project. It is obvious that Germany understands the main goal of the Atlantic partners – to impose their expensive liquefied gas on the whole of Europe. The methods in Washington do not hide – by means of unfair competition to destroy all who interfere with maintaining the hegemony of the United States, including on the European energy market. Russia’s economic cooperation with Europe, especially in the field of energy security, does not give the American authorities and tycoons peace of mind, pushing them to regularly invent new absurd reasons for creating obstacles in the implementation of the Russian-European gas project. But the methods of pressure that the United States successfully uses against countries such as Poland or the Baltic countries, in Germany, do not produce the results expected in Washington, which clearly disappoints the White House.
“Nord Stream-2” will be completed and put into operation, despite blackmail, sanctions and pressure from Washington, as well as a number of European puppet politicians who sing along with it. Now the degree of sovereignty of European countries determines the time frame for the completion and launch of Nord Stream 2, the politician noted.
