Sergei Zheleznyak: “The new US authorities are singing old songs about anti-Russian sanctions and again for no reason”

“The new US authorities are singing old songs about anti-Russian sanctions and again for no reason,” said Sergei Zheleznyak, a member of the State Duma’s International Affairs Committee.

“The wording with which the United States declares the imposition of sanctions in connection with the case of the“ Berlin patient ”against 14 organizations – for the“ production of biological and chemical weapons ”- does not stand up to criticism and has no reasoned basis. The poisoning of the Russian non-systemic oppositionist has not been proven, our Western opponents are unwilling and unable to provide any facts, since they do not exist. But there is an irresistible desire of the United States to continue the course of containing Russia through illegal sanctions, blackmail, pressure and other forms of unfair competition. It was obvious that the administration of President Biden would only strengthen anti-Russian rhetoric in order to demonstrate to internal and external opponents the power of “American-style democracy,” the politician said.

“The imposition of sanctions, including those concerning visa restrictions for individual Russian citizens, is forcing our country to respond to the United States’ unfriendly actions,” Zheleznyak stressed.
