Sergey Zheleznyak: “European officials deliberately mislead Europeans about the actions of our country with their false statements”

“Russophobia of some representatives of the European Parliament has not been surprising for a long time, but against the backdrop of the coronavirus pandemic, Russia’s accusations of misinformation about the situation with the epidemic are especially cynical. “Those who allow themselves in the current situation to broadcast a lie about our country, which in the forefront of the fight against the spread of infection, commit a crime against their own citizens, truth and freedom of speech.” This was stated by a member of the State Duma Committee on Foreign Affairs Sergey Zheleznyak.

According to the politician: “The next unsubstantiated attacks on Russia are the political order of Brussels officials who do not want to be responsible for their own miscalculations and mistakes that led to a critical epidemiological situation in Italy, Spain, other countries, and also undermine the foundations of the EU.

The competent and responsible actions of Russia, our willingness to help other countries always irritate our opponents. Even against the backdrop of a global challenge to all of humanity in the form of a coronavirus, the Russophobic paranoia of individual Western politicians does not reduce the degree of their absurdity.

European officials with their false statements deliberately mislead Europeans about the actions of our country, so as not to destroy the fabricated myth of Russia as a concentration of evil.
To the detriment of the health of their citizens, the European bureaucrats neglect the joint efforts with Russia and China, which are ready to cooperate with other countries in countering the spread of the virus. The behavior that a number of members of the European Parliament demonstrate is perplexing and once again testifies to the lack of European ability to unity in a crisis situation.”
