Member of the Committee on International Affairs Sergey Zheleznyak:
“The Address to the Federal Assembly of President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin is a significant development of social and economic decisions based on the March decree of 2018 and enshrined in national projects. A wide range of tasks set by the President in his message that are aimed at saving our people, realization of human potential, improving quality of life, state of environment and ensuring competitiveness of the country in the difficult conditions of the ongoing technological revolution and global challenges, are absolute priority for our Parliament and for all levels of executive power.
The head of state presented a deep and systematic analysis of the situation in the country and outlined the most important tasks, without solving of which it will be difficult to move forward efficiently. Our national leader has formulated a strategy for the next steps of the state to move the country to a qualitatively new level of development, taking into account domestic economic and foreign policy challenges.
The words of Vladimir Vladimirovich sounded as a very personal appeal to every citizen of Russia, the standard of living and well-being of whom is named the key concern of the state in the speech of the President. The main priority in the President’s Address is a person and as a consequence –an improvement of the quality of social sphere, health care, education, an opportunity for effective and full realization of human potential, an economic growth, a breakthrough development of domestic production and agriculture based on modern scientific developments and high technologies and environmental safety.
Our common goal, first of all through the implementation of national projects, is to help every Russian feel the care of the state, while fully respecting human rights, preserving citizens’ safety, ensuring the protection of our country from external challenges and realization of the national interests.
The speech of the President of Russia is addressed to the world, which is on the verge of complex transformations and torn by contradictions. The head of our state gave a clear signal that we are focused on our national tasks, such as preserving the people and a breakthrough development of the country’s economy. He stressed that for Russia sovereignty and independence are vital conditions for the preservation of our country. We do not want to conflict with opponents, we are ready for an equal and mutually respectful dialogue, as well as to jointly confront global challenges.
The President emphasized that for the development of our country further international cooperation of Russia with all partners, including Europe and the USA, as well as within the UN, BRICS and SCO, EurAsEC, CIS, CSTO, Union State with the Republic of Belarus is important. We will make all necessary efforts at the parliamentary level in order to develop and strengthen relations with responsible political forces of other states and international organizations that share our views and are ready for respectful, open interaction. The world should hear Russia, that demonstrates unity in defending its national interests and traditional values, in spite of the strongest external pressure and attempts to drag the country into various conflicts.
The head of state paid attention to the acute problem of the unjustified US withdrawal from the Intermediate Range Nuclear Forces Treaty, that Washington covers with crafty accusations against Russia. The President clearly outlined the responsibility of American partners in the destruction of the collective security system.
The Supreme Commander specifically, clearly and very openly warned of Russia’s readiness to confront any emerging threats to our national sovereignty. Unscrupulous competitors must unambiguously understand that speaking from a position of strength towards Russia is absolutely unpromising. We will respond to any threat to national security immediately, adequately or asymmetrically. The Russians can be sure that we will always reliably protect the security of the country and our citizens”.
