“Poland’s hysteria about the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline, the launch of which will allegedly become a pretext for increasing Russia’s military presence in the Baltic Sea, continues Warsaw’s anti-Russian campaign. Poland makes it clear that NATO has found a new reason to expand its presence near Russia’s borders. If so, then this fact will be taken into account in the national security strategy of our country, ”said Sergei Zheleznyak, a member of the State Duma’s international affairs committee.
The politician recalled: “This is not the first time Poland is trying to put a spoke in the wheels of the Nord Stream 2 project and is intimidating the Europeans with another fable – Russian aggression in the Baltic Sea. Warsaw is trying in every possible way to justify for its own citizens the lack of sovereignty of the country’s authorities, which, to the detriment of their own economy and the interests of the Poles, have already signed an onerous 20-year contract for the supply of expensive American LNG. The Polish authorities, dreaming of retaining the patronage of the United States, demonstrate that they are ready to continue the anti-Russian demarche in Europe, regardless of the position of sane European states that understand the direct benefits of the Russian-European project. ”
“The attempt of the head of the Polish National Security Bureau to present Russia as an aggressor sounds utterly absurd. The purpose of this statement is visible to the naked eye – to convince sponsors from Washington to expand NATO’s presence in Poland and Europe in general, ”the parliamentarian said.
