Sergey Zheleznyak: “Riots and dispersal of demonstrators in different states of the United States threaten to escalate into a national problem”

“The growing riots and dispersal of protesters in different states of the United States threaten to escalate into a nationwide problem, even become the beginning of a widespread civil confrontation that could lead to civilian casualties.” This opinion was expressed by a member of the State Duma committee on international affairs, Sergei Zheleznyak.

According to the politician: “The authorities of the country should listen to the demands of citizens, enter into a dialogue, and not hide in the bunker and set police on protesters. The tough stance of the US leadership towards the demonstrators can negatively affect the mood of voters on the eve of the presidential election.

It should be emphasized that a significant part of the American electorate is made up of African Americans, who are now actively being drawn to their side by the Democrats, led by Biden. By promises to radically change the situation in the country and improve the situation of the African American population, opponents of the current head of the White House can attract the part of America that now supports protests and understands that racism and violation of human rights have nothing to do with the democracy that they love to declare in the United States.

At the same time, it cannot be ruled out that the unrest caused by the death of an African-American resident of Minneapolis was provoked by political opponents of Trump in order to undermine the authority of the authorities. ”
“I am convinced that the situation in the USA, being an internal affair of America, worries many in the world. The explosive atmosphere in one of the largest countries, as well as the grossest violations of the foundations of freedom, human rights and democracy, should not be left without evaluation by the international community, ”the parliamentarian added.
