“The increased attention on the part of the Russian state to the problems of climate, ecology and preservation of natural diversity is laid down in the strategic goals of the country’s development. On the eve of these issues, in his Address to the Federal Assembly, Russian President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin paid special attention to the responsible attitude of the leadership of our country to global issues affecting all countries of the world without exception. ” This opinion was expressed by a member of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs Sergei Zheleznyak.
The politician stressed: “The head of our state today during the Climate Summit proposed to the international community a number of specific measures to preserve the climate, which require joint efforts.
The day before, in his Address to the Federal Assembly, Vladimir Putin pointed out the need to speed up the adoption of a law on the financial responsibility of owners of domestic enterprises for environmental damage. Parliament must pass this important piece of legislation in the period remaining until the end of the convocation.
Businesses that responsibly approach the construction of wastewater treatment plants and the use of environmentally friendly technologies are encouraged by the state.
As our President noted, Russia can also provide foreign business with certain preferences if entrepreneurs are ready to use environmentally friendly technologies in production.
At the same time, it is obvious that saving natural diversity, respecting resources, protecting the planet from pollution, preventing climate catastrophes are global problems that should be tackled jointly by all countries of the world, discarding political differences. Whether our Western opponents are capable of moving from words to deeds, calming their ambitions and abandoning the methods of unfair competition in the field of ecology – their concrete steps will show.”
