Sergey Zheleznyak: “The sanctions that the outgoing US authorities finally decided to adopt against the Russian Ministry of Defense have one task – to hinder the strengthening of the Russian military-industrial complex”

“The sanctions, which the outgoing US authorities finally decided to adopt against the Russian Ministry of Defense and a number of civilian industry enterprises, have one main task – to prevent the strengthening of the Russian military-industrial complex, which in the same USA is considered one of the largest players in the global arms market, as well as development of civil industry in our country ”.

This opinion was expressed by a member of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs Sergei Zheleznyak.

“The Trump administration in the remaining time pretends that it still runs the country and is trying to demonstrate its strength to the electorate. The United States, by its usual way of unfair competition, is trying to oust Russian manufacturers.

At the same time, Russian high-tech types of weapons based on domestic scientific developments are in deserved demand in other countries. In the US, this causes irritation and a corresponding reaction. Unable to offer the market a competitive alternative in terms of price and quality, the United States imposes illegal sanctions. The same applies to Chinese companies, against which the US is waging a sanctions war, ”the politician said.

“It is obvious that the introduction of new sanctions will in a certain sense complicate the work of a number of American companies that have so far had the opportunity to cooperate with Russian partners. Those who introduce new sanctions are not even embarrassed by the fact that some of the figures indicated in the lists are already under sanctions, which in no way affects their activities and the functioning of the organizations they represent, ”the parliamentarian stressed.
