Sergey Zheleznyak: “The support by the majority of UN members of the Russian draft resolution on combating the glorification of Nazism testifies to the understanding by civilized countries of the need to resist the propaganda of Nazism”

“The support by the majority of UN members of the Russian draft resolution on combating the glorification of Nazism clearly demonstrates the understanding by civilized countries, to which the United States and Ukraine obviously refuse to class themselves, of the need to oppose the propaganda of Nazism and attempts to revive the ideas of racial and any other discrimination.” This was stated by a member of the international affairs committee Sergei Zheleznyak.

“Again, it is not surprising that it was Ukraine and the United States that voted against the Russian initiative. The United States has traditionally voted against our projects, trying to maintain tensions in relations. This time, the demonstration of its exclusiveness in the United States was actually manifested in its readiness to pander to neo-Nazi and terrorist forces convenient for them in other countries.

As for Ukraine, unfortunately, in recent years it has become a breeding ground for the development of ideas of radical nationalism. The new authorities in the square continue to follow the lead of the radicals, flirt with the extremists, and often act on their behest. This policy of Kiev should alert its Western partners, who could exert an appropriate influence on the eastern neighbor, ”the politician believes.

“Support for the Russian resolution in the UN is a clear demonstration of trust in our country and the growth of Russia’s authority in the international arena. I am convinced that we will continue to defend the historical truth at all levels and protect the world from the revival of Nazism, ”Zheleznyak added.
