Sergey Zheleznyak: the United States is trying to single-handedly control the arms market and impose its military-industrial complex products on other countries

“The initiative of US senators aimed at preventing countries from purchasing weapons, which include Russian S-400s, speaks of the impossibility of American opponents to compete with Russian manufacturers. The United States is trying to single-handedly control the arms market and impose its military-industrial complex products on other countries. Washington’s unsuccessful attempt to prevent Ankara from acquiring Russian S-400s was an obvious impetus for such legislative steps.” This is how Sergey Zheleznyak, a member of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs, commented on the information on the preparation of a relevant bill in the US Senate.

According to the politician: “It is obvious that the United States has long appreciated the high accuracy and effectiveness of the Russian S-400 anti-aircraft missile systems. Domestic air defense systems are objectively better than similar ones produced in the USA and Europe, as foreign experts have said more than once. It should be recalled that the S-400 belongs to the air defense system and is aimed at protecting the sovereignty and integrity of the state. In our country, missile systems are deployed in order to increase the defense capability in response to the intensified aggressive activity of NATO countries near the borders of the Russian Federation.”

“The United States is always annoyed by Russia’s success in the production of modern types of weapons and the growing demand for Russian military-industrial complex products abroad. American warriors and their NATO partners deliberately provoke other countries with aggressive rhetoric and attempts to expand their presence as much as possible, pushing the world to a new arms race in the hope of earning billions from the sale of deadly weapons, ”the parliamentarian is convinced.
