“The United States continues to actively intervene in the internal affairs of sovereign countries, spreading pressure on states displaying independence, pragmatism in their policies and acting in the logic of their own national interests.” This was stated by a member of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs Sergey Zheleznyak.
According to the politician: “The United States exerts coarse pressure on Germany, whose business is directly threatened from Washington with sanctions for participating in the Nord Stream II project, is being blackmailed by the destruction of Turkey’s economy in the event of Ankara’s actions in the Kurdish direction and, of course, negatively affect Japan, which, not without filing from overseas, began strange maneuvers around a peace treaty with Russia, casting doubt on the identity of the Russian Kuril Islands. It remains to be hoped that Tokyo will choose a constructive tone to continue the negotiations, which will contribute to the realization of the plans of our countries to conclude a peace treaty. ”
“Each new destructive action of Washington is aimed at pushing the interests of different countries, stirring up conflicts and is in direct violation of the rules of the international community. Not finding opportunities for obvious victories in the domestic direction, Washington is trying to turn around in the external arena, proving its elusive power by blackmail, sanctions and creating hotbeds of instability in different regions of the planet, ”the parliamentarian stressed.
