The Europeans’ hushing up of the Russians’ victories at the World Short Course Swimming Championships is stupid. Olympic champion and State Duma deputy Svetlana Zhurova told TASS this opinion.
Earlier, the European Aquatics League did not publish a photo of Russian Miron Lifintsev, who became the world champion, among other medalists of the tournament on the social network X.
“According to their idea, there should not be a combination of the words “Russia” and “victory,” said Zhurova. “But many are already unhappy with this hushing up. Now sports officials have decided that the Russians should be allowed in, but they want to do it softly. But for them, mentioning the words “Russia” and “victory” is propaganda.”
“Although what they are doing looks very stupid. But, unfortunately, it has an effect on many Europeans,” Zhurova added.
