Today it is especially important to remember that September 21 marks the Day of Russia’s military glory and the 1160th anniversary of the birth of Russian statehood. The emergence of Russian statehood is associated with the so-called calling of the Varangians to Russia, which took place in September 862. So, “The Tale of Bygone Years” tells that in 862 three Varangian brothers with their clans came to rule the Slavs, laying the foundation of the city of Ladoga.
The Russian state was born thanks to the unification of many tribes and peoples, it is unique and unrepeatable. The initiator of giving this event the status of a state holiday was the Russian Emperor Alexander II in 1862.
In addition, today we celebrate the anniversary of a major historical event – the victory of Russian troops in the Battle of Kulikovo. The victory of Prince Dmitry Donskoy over the troops of the Golden Horde served the formation of the Russian state and the unification of Russia.
Unfortunately, we live in a time when many countries are trying to rewrite Russian history, so knowledge of the history of the formation of the native state is necessary for every citizen.
For Russia, the present moment is historical, right now the Russian world is beginning to reunite again. For six months, Western countries, without changing their traditions, on foreign territory and by proxy, are trying to resist Russia, which has always fought and will fight against the Nazi regime, terrorist attacks, and the killing of civilians. Ukraine and the Ukrainian people, unfortunately, have become a bargaining chip in this war for world domination. Holding referendums and partial mobilization will serve to strengthen the great Russian world. Now we must unite and win! We must support the decisions of the President and our military at the front in the name of a strong and independent Russia.
