Leonid Slutsky, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs, received the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Brazil to Russia, Rodrigo dos Santos Sergio.
Leonid Slutsky noted the high level of development of Russian-Brazilian relations in bilateral and multilateral formats and spoke in favor of the need for their further strengthening, including at the parliamentary level.
“It is possible and necessary to hold meetings and joint sessions of the foreign affairs committees of the parliaments of Russia and Brazil to compare notes and discuss issues of cooperation in all areas, primarily economic and humanitarian,” said Leonid Slutsky.
For his part, Rodrigo dos Santos Sergio emphasized that Russia remains a strategic partner of Brazil. “Our cooperation covers several sectors, several areas of bilateral interaction. And we have a vision of the international system that is very similar, very close. We strive to establish a multi-level, just world order where all countries without exception will have equal opportunities,” the Ambassador noted.
