
Rik Daems, President of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), will participate in the North-South Prize of the Council of Europe Award Ceremony on 2 December in Lisbon, alongside the Portuguese President, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa; the Speaker of the Portuguese Assembly, Eduardo Ferro Rodrigues; the Secretary General of the Council of Europe, Marija Pejčinović Burić; and the President of the Executive Committee of the North-South Centre, the Ambassador Manuel Montobbio. The 2019 Prize will be awarded to Nabila Hamza (Tunisia) and to Leoluca Orlando (Italy).
On this occasion, Mr Daems will hold several bilateral meetings, in particular with the President of Portugal, the Speaker of the Portuguese Assembly, the Secretary of State of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, the Chairperson of the Portuguese delegation to the PACE, and the President of the Inter-Parliamentary Union.
