To the General Assembly of the United Nations, the Inter-Parliamentary Union, the European Parliament and the parliaments of the countries of the world on the threat to peace and stability in Europe posed by Ukraine

Deputies of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation express their extreme concern about the development of the situation in Ukraine. The Kyiv regime, pushed by the US and NATO, is stepping up military operations, bringing the situation to the brink of a large-scale bloody confrontation. The forces that carried out a coup d’etat in Ukraine in 2014 finally abandoned the peaceful resolution of the intra-Ukrainian conflict. Deputies of the State Duma state with regret that the efforts of Russia, which has been opposing the genocide of the population of Donbass for eight years, have proved fruitless. In today’s conditions, Russia cannot feel safe in connection with the expansion of NATO to the East and the build-up of threats emanating from Ukraine, up to nuclear blackmail attempts.

The Russian Federation, in full compliance with Article 51 of the UN Charter, launched a special military operation in Ukraine at the end of February 2022. The irresponsible actions of the NATO countries, which are constantly supplying mass lethal weapons and sending foreign mercenaries to Ukraine, leave the population of a number of Ukrainian regions no other option than turning to Russia for protection and assistance.

Deputies of the State Duma appeal to the UN General Assembly, sane politicians and parliamentarians of the countries of the world with a call to carefully consider and strongly condemn the dangerous actions of the United States and NATO, prompting the Kyiv regime to a large-scale military confrontation that can claim thousands of lives of civilians, endangering the peace and security of peoples Europe.
