Leonid Slutsky, Chairman of the International Affairs Committee, expressed his deepest condolences over the assassination of Iran’s Supreme Ruler Ali Khamenei, senior military officials, and civilians.
L. Slutsky sent letters to Iran’s Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Russia, Kazem Jalali, and Chairman of the National Security and Foreign Policy Committee of the Islamic Consultative Assembly of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ebrahim Azizi.
“The armed aggression against the Islamic Republic of Iran, which has claimed lives, including those of innocent children, has no basis or justification and is a flagrant violation of international law. Russia and Iran enjoy a comprehensive strategic partnership. In these tragic days for your country, the deputies of the State Duma express their full support and sincere sympathy to the friendly Iranian people!” the committee chairman’s message reads.
