Iranian authorities have conveyed to the United States, through intermediaries, the conditions for opening the Strait of Hormuz, which include a cessation of hostilities in Lebanon, the Gaza Strip, and the Middle East as a whole, as well as the release of Iranian assets. This was announced by the new Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of the Islamic Republic, Mohsen Rezaei.
According to him, the Strait of Hormuz will not be unblocked until the United States changes its policy and agrees to Iran’s demands.
“The United States must end the war, pay Iran’s frozen assets, and the war in the region as a whole, including Lebanon and Gaza, must end, and other conditions that were conveyed through intermediaries must also be accepted,” Rezaei stated, as quoted by the Tasnim news agency.
He also added that the agreement between Iran and Oman on the Strait of Hormuz will not affect the issue of its opening.
