Chairman of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs Leonid Slutsky held a meeting with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Republic of Yemen Shaia Mohsen Al-Zindani, who is in Moscow on a working visit.
The parties discussed key issues of international and regional problems, as well as the development of Russian-Yemeni cooperation in the parliamentary plane. During the talks, they discussed the coordination of approaches at international venues, primarily the UN. “Russia is interested in resolving the Yemeni crisis through political and diplomatic methods and advocates creating conditions for launching a full-scale inter-Yemeni dialogue. We are ready to facilitate and develop cooperation through the mechanisms of parliamentary diplomacy,” said L. Slutsky.
For his part, Sh. Al-Zindani also spoke in favor of intensifying bilateral dialogue with the Russian Federation. “We will make every effort to develop relations with Russia. The Russian presence in the region meets the interests of the Yemeni people,” he concluded.
