The Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea, Mun Hye San, will take part in the meeting of the Speakers of the Parliaments of Eurasia, which will be held from October 8 to 11 in Antalya, Turkey. “Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea, Mun Hy Hi, will personally lead a representative delegation to the third meeting of the Speakers of Parliaments of the Eurasian Countries, which will be held from October 8 to 11 in Antalya, Turkey. Mun Hye-san is the closest associate of President of the country, Mun Zhe In, who visited Russia in early July and spoke from the rostrum of the State Duma, “explained Leonid Slutsky, who recalled that the first meeting took place in 2016 in Moscow and gathered 19 national delegations, Seoul, there have already arrived 28 delegations.
According to him, it is expected that the meeting in Turkey will be no less representative. “This is a unique format, proposed by the State Duma, lays the parliamentary dimension of various integration blocs, such as the Eurasian Economic Union, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the economic belt of the silk road for a decade ahead. Today it was supported by the National Council of the Republic of Korea, “Slutsky said, noting that the Russian parliamentary delegation will be headed by State Duma Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin.
Leonid Slutsky also said that on the margins of the meeting of speakers in Turkey it is planned to launch a large Korean interparliamentary commission, which will become a new mechanism for parliamentary cooperation between the State Duma and the National Assembly of the Republic of Korea.
“The meeting of the commission will be chaired by Vyacheslav Volodin and Mun Hye San,” said the politician, who today also met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Korea, Kan Gen Hwa. According to him, a number of issues were discussed at the meeting, including those related to inter-Korean talks involving the DPRK, the possible appearance of a parliamentary component in this dossier.
“This could also be the subject of a large commission in October. In my opinion, so far the opportunities for this have not matured. The talks are being held by the executive authorities, including representatives of the military departments of the Republic of Korea and the DPRK, but I do not exclude that in the foreseeable future, the parliamentary dimension of inter-Korean consultations involving the DPRK may appear, “said Leonid Slutsky, who believes that the ideal platform for such talks is The State Duma.
