Russian President Vladimir Putin highlighted the role of diplomats in frustrating the West’s attempts to isolate the country in his greetings to the diplomatic corps posted on the Kremlin’s website on Friday.
“Largely thanks to your efforts, the country has managed not only to thwart the collective West’s plans to isolate Russia but also to step up cooperation with most members of the international community, including countries in Eurasia, the Middle East, the Asia-Pacific region, Africa and Latin America,” the head of state said in his greetings to the Russian Foreign Ministry’s staff and veterans on the occasion of Russia’s Diplomats Day.
“The best qualities of our country’s diplomatic service are much in demand today amidst the hybrid war unleashed against Russia when it is extremely important to make the most of our foreign policy instruments to defend our state sovereignty and national security,” the statement says.
Russia’s Foreign Ministry can rightly take pride in its glorious traditions. Russian diplomats fulfilled their professional duty with honor and set an example of patriotism and civic courage even in the most difficult times, in the face of trials and tribulations, the head of state stressed.
The Russian leader conveyed his congratulations to the nation’s diplomats on this eventful day, wishing them new professional successes, good health, great spirits and a long life to the Foreign Ministry’s veterans.
